If you could own one...

Now I know some of you here are lucky enough to actually own some great planes.

But this is a hypothetical here

If you could own one warbird...what would it be?

For me it would be an AVG P-40 B/C.

(In reality I'd be happy w/ a J-3 or a homebuilt  )

You guys are going to laugh. The B-17 is my favorite airplane. I love all of the WWII fighters, bombers, and other aircraft. But if I could own one airplane, it wowuld be a Stearman. There is just something graceful about it.

I would also need Jessica Simpson to co-pilot my Stearman. I almost for got that part.

I would have to say a beautifully restored B-17 with my beautiful wife dressed up as a "Victory Girl" in vintage 40's clothing. :tonqe:

Two quickly come to mind:

A Cactus Air Force F4F. :D For the stories it could tell.

A P-61 8) For the sheer coolness factor...

I love the B-17 and the P-51...but if it were mine to fly I would either get the A-26 for the speed and enough room to carry some friends...or a PBY Cat...go anywhere...take your buddies fishing kind of thing...

speaking from the standpoint of a very avid lake erie fisherman...... i wouldn't dare fish off of a pby, i don't want fish guts, fish screw, bait, & spilled beer etc on my catalina flyingboat!!!! now....... my "boat boat".... spill all the beer you want, slop the bait around, but easy on the fish jizz!!

Nice

But I want a Black Cat, with a pair of 20 mike mike's in the nose window and a few bombs hung under the wings!

Or a A-26 would want a glass nose but if I can have live 50s in the nose give me the gunss

P-47 or Hellcat. As a native Long Islander, I'm partial to the Republic and Grumman brands. I'd even settle for a Wildcat from the bottom of Lake Michigan, fully restored of course.

I would have to go with a TA-152 or P-47 in Escuadron 201 Markings.

The TA looks like one mean bird and the P-47 would be a cool homage to my heritage.

Just dreamin!

I want a B-36! :supz:

I'd fly it all by myself. :?
