Working on my house to get ready to put it up for sale.

I bought it about 5 years ago from my in-laws unfinished and with events unfolding in my life (and Kelly's, my wife) we decided to flee NYS and move south (I hope that it is Nashville and not Maine). So anyway I've been working 10+ hour days on my house for the last few weeks trying to get it ready. While I can't compete with Gary and the Liberator formally own as Lil, here is my Internet picture log for those who might care.

I have to admit that it has been a blast to see the house come together. It has been a long time sense I’ve been fulfilled by work. The Direct Mail (AKA – Junk mail) computer-programming world I guess just has not cut it for me; But working with wood and power tools have increased my testosterone leave a bit.

We think that this coming week or next we’ll have our house on the market and ready to commit ourselves to a southern migration. If Global Warming isn’t coming to us, we’ll go to it.

And I forgot to say shooting the trespassing Chipmunks when I get the chance, sorry no pictures of that. But if there is an out cry I'll take them and post them. :snipe:

Tim: I can really feel for you. I've been off on medical leave for nearly 4 months this round and it's driving me crazy. We were over 10 months into a 6 week remodel when I went out the first time last year. Finally got rid of the contractors right after Christmas and have been finishing up everything myself. Unfortunately it's one step forward and three back with all the little problems and installation mistakes that we are finding. Just discovered last weekend that I've got to pull up all the countertops and lower the cabinets about an inch so the correct drawers will go in the correct location and with the correct orientation (IKEA Cabinets...drawers can go in multiple locations and drawer fronts can get flipped...), then reshim the countertops to correct levels.

The biggest frustration is not having any secure workspace/storage space here at the house. Both barns are full of furniture and household stuff waiting to go back inot the house, but there isn't enough storage space inside until I get some more cabinets and shelving built....and so it goes.

I feel your pain Tim. About 6 years ago I was laid-off twice over about a 2 year period. I'm the type that always has to keep busy and this allowed me to get a ton of work done on our historic old Victorian house. Unfortunately during a lay-off you have all the time in the world but little $$$ to purchase supplies. :?

I must say it really is not that bad, most of the work is pretty cheap at this point. I had most of the materials (other than the oak to finish the floors  :? that wasn't so cheap).

I think I have enough to last a while. I stopped brewing several months agos I still have a Cranberry P-Lambic to bottle, so far it tastes great, but very light on cran flavor.

I've talked to Scott about getting together some time soon, besides the NE Gathering, maybe we can all get together and enjoy some strange brews

Well, we signed the papers to put our house on the market. While we are still finishing up final details on the house, the sign is up and soon we'll be open for people to start to look at it, that will be strange :?

My last big project is to make the thresholds, tomorrow I'm picking up the 5/4 oak and I'll start on that project. I think our moving sale just got moved out, so I can hang on to my 4 fish a bit longer.

There has been several updates to my webshots page also.
