Warbird Information Exchange

According to the museum's website www.hagerstownaviationmuseum.org a C-119 has been donated to the museum. It says the plane is coming from Wyoming (Hawkins & Powers I assume) after having 50k to 100k worth of work done to it. A nice acquisition for a small but growing museum. The C-119 will go nicely with their recently acquired C-82.

More C-118's need to be saved!

Does anyone know if this will be a flying museum? I seem to remember that someone said that they won't be flying the C-82... but I could be wrong. Thanks.

Ryan - I believe you are right. As far as I know the Hagerstown Aviation Museum is strictly a museum for static displays and has no intention of trying to maintain any aircraft as flying examples.

I think the flight of the C-82 from Greybull to Hagerstown in mid October will probably be the last time it ever flies. I wish I could have been there to see it (Hagerstown is about 80 miles from where I live), but unfortunately I was out of town.

I hope that I can find out when the C-119 will be ready for its flight to Hagerstown from Greybull so I can plan to see the arrival. Unfortunately that will probably be the last flight for it also.

Aww never mind!

I can understand a museum not flying aircraft due to costs and what not.

Hopefully in the future these aircraft or others may take to the skies.
