P-51 Mary Mine - Help

Sun Apr 29, 2007 4:06 pm

44-64005 N51CK "Mary Mine" has recently changed hands from Charles kemp to the Iron Baron Corp of Delaware.

A google search brings nothing regarding the above company - does anyone have any contact details for the Iron Baron Corp?

The 361st FG Association are visiting The Gathering of Mustangs 2007 and wanted to know whether the last remaining original 361st FG machine "Mary Mine" would be attending as they are hopeful of seeing it up close and wanted to contact the owners.

Any help much appreciated. (have asked the same question on mustangsmustangs but no response and was hoping a WIXER may be able to help)

Thanks

Jason

David Arnold owns this airplane. Last I heard it was in a T-hangar in Rockford, Illinois. I don't think it is currently airworthy.

This is an interesting topic. Back in 2003 (maybe), Mike Burke was ferrying it to the East Coast for it to be shipped to England for Mr. Arnold (or so I thought). It broke down in Cape Girardeau, MO and I was called to come up and fix it. We got a new mag from Mike George and installed it. That fixed the problem and Mike flew off into the wild blue yonder. I just assumed at that point the airplane had eventually made it's way to Merry Ol' England for restoration. Guess I was wrong. I wonder what happened to change the plans for the airplane.

Thanks to everyone for the info, especially Gary for taking the time away from the beautiful B-24 restoration (for which you should be extremely proud).

I take it David Arnold is a relation of Doug Arnold and there is liitle chance of obtaining any info from the owners themselves??

Very best regards

Jason
