The weather looks great for the Lone Star show in Galveston this Sat and Sun, not even too hot, and with clear skies. Come on down. They were out flying the 25, and 47 last night. Their Spit is apart and so is the 17 with an engine problem. For all those jet sniffers I think they are going to have some of them too.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Your killing me Bill- :( :(

This is the first time in almost 9 years that I haven't been at the show and actively invoved with making it all happen. Couldn't get the time off from the new job and I now live a few thousand miles away.

I am sure that everyone there will take good care of you and it will be a great show. (The biggest small show around)

Have fun all of those that are going to be there (and watch for I45 traffic this weekend, several lanes closed inbound to the island) Sounds like the weather is finally going to cooperate this year.

It is Friday eve and Cavanaugh P-40 came in with Mike Burke, born and raised on the island. It has gotten kind of windy and cool, but still good vfr. Have eaten lunch twice at Gaidos so getting my fish fix.

Whaaattt ? No one has been nice enough to take you to the Pelican Club ?

Can you even wear a jacket with a flight suit ?

Gaido's is OK but I prefer Clary's across Offat Bayou from the airport.

Hope to see you tomorrow, Bill.

The show in Galveston at Lone Star Flight Museum went well, no accidents that I saw. Some of the pilots talked about one of the jet demos that almost had a problem during a hard maneuver, but I didn't see that part of the show. The noise from the F-15 is pretty overwhelming so I was next door at the aqaurium when it flew. Even indoors it is loud. The weather was good vfr both days, a little hot on Sun. attendence seemed to be pretty good, and those there seemed enthusiastic. Sun I flew solo as Rayborn did not make it back. It was nice to be able to manuever some and folks said it loked good. Something happened to my radio in flight and I could not hear the tower or airboss so I just flew as briefed and then landed so it seemed to go okay. I met severall other WIX guys here and enjoyed that. A couple of pluses for the show; the pilot briefing is a 10 am, a very sane hour other places might copy. Also I flew at 12:30 rather thean hanging around until 4 or 5 in the afternood like some shows. One noegative other thatn the jet noise, is the public area is out on the ramp and there is no shade, no tents for vets or pilots or sponsors so it gets pretty intense on a sunny Texas afternoon. The museum has a lot of great volunteers, wish I had been able to stay Sat eve and talk to more of them. Ronnie Gardner and I were reminiscing and he said he had been doing airshows for 44 years!

We had two fairly generous sized tents erected for our sponsors and veterans to get out of the sun if needed along with plenty of refreshments and comfortable seating on the flight line..afterall I don't see how you get much out of an airshow while sitting under a tent... Tom
