Ztex, thanks for the reference on the photo. As for flying solo, that is what the FAA reqiures in order to fly in the show if it has waivered airspace, that is if the show has obtained exemptions from some of the FARS, regs such as max speed, or aerobatics. Ironically, if it is a fly in or less formal show I could do a fly by with a co pilot if I stay within the regs. This rule supposedly adds a level of safety, since if there is an accident in the show, only the pilot is at risk. It's protection is mostly window dressing, as most accidents have been outside the show. I belive if we are only we doing fly bys with no acro then we ought to be able to carry someone. We used to be able to do this years ago and it was a great opportunity to take a volunteer or a sponsor or VIP. It might even aid safety as when you have another person along you fly a little more carefully. If one is going way past the FARs or norms such as doing acro, then I don't think a passenger should be carried. I probably would not have taken anyone at LSFM as I was pretty low at times and probably at 4 or 5 gs once or twice. Our fly bys at Oshkosh are pretty tame, just follow the leader, no acro and it would be great to be able to take someone. Guess what, the FAA did not asks my opinion on the matter or any other, they just imposed the rule.

Yeah, those are a couple of great photos. Some don't realize just how agile the B-25 can be. I have talked to a couple of 'Air Apache' pilots who have told me that they have been inverted in a B-25.

Tom Auerbach took some good Legacy pix with his new Sony DSLR. They're posted on the LSFM site. I took a bunch of artsy-fartsy shots of sunrise on the fighter lineup. I hadn't planned on being functional at six a.m. but Czar Gene asked me to after he saw me taking sunSET photos on Sat. The price of being creative. I could have just sat with my camera and watched the sun come up on the Sea Fury.

The golf cart. I work for a tractor-atv-uv-golfie dealership and every time Averille's cart acted up, Ops Czar squawked for me to come fix it. I clocked in at seven a.m. Sat. and the first greeting I heard was "Glad you're here! Gotta cart down. Need ya over here!"
