Photos of yesterday's event at CMA

Come out tomorrow and see Chino’s P-40 and our Zero fly to commemorate the CBI and celebrate Thomas Van Stein’s artwork. CAF hangars 10-4. The restoration hangar also will be open.

The P-40 arrived just moments ago. Both aircraft will fly tomorrow at 1300hrs. See you there.

Glad to hear the P-40 arrived...Between the unveiling of Thomas' painting at 1230 and the fly-over at 1300, it will be a GREAT afternoon!

And having the Collings birds there is an added bonus. I am looking forward to getting some great pictures tomorrow.

Noted artist, fellow wing member, PBJ crewmember and great friend Thomas Van Stein unveiled his latest aviation painting yesterday at CMA. It sounded like a good reason to celebrate so we brought out some of our toys and played with them for a while over Ventura County. David Price just happened to be flying by in his Mustang and joined up. What a blast!

I love the formation shot. 62 years ago that Zero pilot would be having a very bad day :lol:

Well, this isn't "the" CAF Zero. That aircraft is now at Pearl Harbor on static display. This aircraft is the ex-Planes of Fame aircraft.

edit- the post below is more correct. I forgot that the plane was technically the Museum of Flying's and was on loan to the Planes of Fame in the late '90s.
