I agree with Beachgirl on those, Jack. They're all awesome, but the VE Day picture speaks volumes! By the way, what does that P-61 say on the cowling?

Question for the more informed among us--

What's with the P-47 taking off from an aircraft carrier? Ferry flight? I remember they did it with Spitfires to Malta...

delivered for land based operation via carrier, very common mode of transportation to the combat area. i'd like to see some other types that were flown off carriers. i've seen p-40's but thats about it.
