Hi all
I realise that it is only a short time since the Duxford tragedy involving the Firefly happened but with the greatest respect I would ask if anybody knows if there are any future thoughts as to the operation of a Firefly by the RNHF.
I understand that some of you may take this post as poor taste or disrespectful and I do not wish to cause offence so please understand

Hi John,
According to a recent edition of Flypast two ex-Norwegian, ex-RN Firefly TT-1s have been imported and are under restoration. One will be restored to flying condition and one to Static display.
The one intended to fly will be operated by the Aircraft Restoration Company, but who knows, the RNHF may attempt to acquire it. At least there'll be an airworthy Firefly once more!

Speaking of Firefly's, does anyone know anything about the firefly project for sale on courtesy aircrafts site? The site say's it is in Maine, maybe one of our New England Wix buddies could take a look at it.

Hi all
My memory deserts me from time to time but if I am not mistaken there is a former RAN Firefly floating about in the US other than the recently restored one and the Canadian example - I seem to remember one left here about 15 years ago and promptly dissapeared. I will look into it and get back.
Reagards

According the the registry, WD840 is ex-RAN and stored at Lone Star Flight Musuem. The Firefly for sale with Courtesy is WD833, also ex-RAN.

Is 99k a reasonable price for that project? I've never seen one for sale before.

Scott, if you need photos of the two Fireflies at Yeovilton I've got some that you can use.
The same goes for most of the planes at Hendon, Duxford, Cosford and Yeovilton.
Cheers, Rob

that would be great Rob, especially Yeovilton, I don't think I have any pictures of those aircraft.
