As you guys know we do a lot of movie and TV work due to our proximity to LA LA LAND. This shows setting up for a night shoot of a women’s shoe commercial. I didn’t stick around for this one but I heard they shot all night.

Making snow in LA may be hard, but how about Aspen in winter? Those movie guys filmed in Aspen a block from my house IN WINTER. Do you think they used real snow? No, they waited until a warm spell melted the snow in town, still plenty on the ski runs, and they came in an sprayed the trees with a soap solution to look like snow. This was for the movie ASPEN EXTREME, a few years ago. The premise is double silly, first that the best skier is measured by a contest of doing figure 8s in powder snow. Nevermind about the real skiers from Aspen that have raced on the World Cup Circuit, on the hardest courses there are. Next, that 2 new guys who are cab drivers in Chigago or Detroit ? I think, come to Aspen and in one season are the best skiiers in town. The movie is sort of a local joke, but the extreme ski scenes are real, some done by my friend Scott.

What? You mean Aspen Extreme was not a documetary?
I am shocked! Shocked I tell you!

I hope there was some reason for having the right strut deflated.

It was the icicles under the wings that cracked me up.

Is that a jack in between the main gear and the step? and if so, why is it there? It doesn't seem to appear in any of the other photos. Thanks.

You can see it in the first two photos.

I'm not sure why the jack is there, but I am guessing that the reason is so that the wing looks lower, making the models look taller. It could also have to do with the angles for the photo shoot.
