The first Spit is now in NZ under resto.

That Spitfire with the "80" on the side was once on loan to the New England Air Museum. I believe it's now flying with a new owner.

Is that Butch Schroeder's old Corsair?

Yes that is His old corsair, it is being restored in house at the Tri-State warbird Museum.

Thanks for posting and if it is possible, you should think about posting occasional updates on the Corsair's progress a'la "Diamond Lil".

Great series of pics Eric! My favorite is that BT-13--it reminds me of a Spartan Executive in some respects. That Pinball P-63 would look good in our hangar too!

Yep!
That's the Spit!
It was only with us for a few years and actually was a Racer at one point . That's why she had the "80" on her in the earlier pic.
I can see NEAM's T-Bolt tail right behind the Spit!

My best guess on the first Corsair photo is that the two FG-1D's are BuNo.92132 and 92433 after being stripped for paint for the Blacksheep TV Series. The plane in the foreground has numerous similarities with 92132 from that time, including the yellow spinner, matching antenna masts, national insignia, etc.

The plane inthe background is another story though. Every photo I have of Tallichet's other FG-1D (BuNo.92106) from before and after this time shows the aft blade antenna mast intact. The plane shown in the background of this photo has no aft mast, so if this is in fact the paint prep for Blacksheep, the only other early model that this could have been is Junior Burchinal's FG-1D BuNo.92433. (*The POF's F4U-1A had the standard aft mast as well).

The only other time I can think of when two FG-1D's could have been parked side-by-side in this configuration (both in ex-USN Reserve markings with the orange band) would have been with Alvin George in the mid-1960's. Those planes never received equal treatment like the ones in the photo though.

Can anyone confirm or deny whether the scenery in the background is Chino (circa 1976) or not?

Any clues on the B-17? Looks like N3578G or could be 55 or 33 or 35 or 53...none of those come up with the FAA as a B-17...and I didn't see any of those number in the registry.

N3378G belongs to the Chino P-26...

Plus the #1 and 4 cowls look funny to me....
