Does anyone have any recent photos of the P-61 Restoration that is currently taking place?

I have one picture here. I assume that you are refering to the P-61 at MAAM in Reading PA. I have one more I'll post later when I am home. Sorry but both are not really in focus. I had to hold the camera over my head and hope the shots came out.

OH, I forgot about the "new" P-61

Did Setter ever get those photos out into any WIX'ers hands?
Where is Setter, we haven't heard much from him lately?

I am alive and well - about to head off to Vietnam after Bearcats and Skyraiders - One of each.

Both P 61s are now in/on the way to the UK - somewhere near Birmingham in storage with a Company / firm / person by the name of Gilberts. One arrived 4 weeks ago via London and the other is on the water at present.

I recieved a very amusing letter from a "city(London) " legal firm threatening all kinds of retribution if I continued to "meddle" in their clients affairs by publishing any further material about these aircraft. So sue me the aircraft was on view in a storage yard - would make a very interesting court case.

I have put up everything I know about this now - it will be interesting to see what happens with these aircraft now - my theory is that they will come onto the US market in a little while (12 - 18 months ) and go to prominant collections there - they are the only ones with the resources to be able to do it.

Hope this helps- you are welcome to the photos but they aren't much use as they just show a tail poking out of the top of a container. I will email them to you

Is the Beijing P61 still in the museum there??

I only ask because somebody posted some recent photos from the museum over on Hyperscale and there didn't seem to be any of the Widow - which seemed a dead cert for a photo

Re the Bejing example - I am informed it has disapeared and linked to some enquiries directed to me by other parties about the PNG examples I would not be surprised if it had gone to another home for restoration.

I know nothing I am just joining the dots here.

And yes I was in the UK from 28Sept to 16Oct and had a great time and saw 37 Aviation sites - what a hoot.

This sounded a lot like that person from the Northwest. But I guess it is

I can say that the person in the northwest is definately NOT the person who wrote the legal letter. I have never had a nasty letter from that direction and the few dealings I have had from over there whilst indirect were very amicable and professional. They just guard their privacy and that's fine with me. The letter was from a UK based organisation not usually associated with our interest.

All i can say is sincerely hope that someone gets one airworthy soon. I would really love to see one of these birds in the air. The only one i've ever seen is at Dayton, which is not too great, you can't get a great look at it with the lighting and being roped off.....but still even looking at that, i got shivers when i first saw it. What a plane......and just think to see it in the air......someday....
