I'm assuming this is one of the Mildcats A&T pulled from Lake Michigan for the National Museum of Naval Aviation. Anyone know which one it is?

General Motors FM-2 "Wildcat (BuNo 16161)(CASU 24/35 on side)(18 on tail) (Assigned to NAS Glenview, IL for Carrier Qualification Training Unit. On April 12, 1945 the aircraft was lost attempting a landing on the USS Wolverine in Lake Michigan)(recovered in 1990s)

The airplane is in amazing condition considering all the time it spent under water. We do have the wings. When we get around to restoring the plane what we intend to do is preserve everything that is still intact, including the paint and rebuild the damaged or missing parts like the rudder.

By the way, does anybody have FM-2 cowls they'd like to donate? :)
