Saw Tim Savage and Paul there. Mudge had to satisfy his In-n'-Out urge so he missed Glacier Girl and Jack Croul's P-38 fly. Lots of airplanes around, maybe there will be an airshow or something?

The F4U-4 at Aero Trader is FAH 618 owned by Lori Crown and loaned to the Midway Museum. I'm not sure how much is being done to it at AT but hope it's all to airworthy (not static display) standards. The wings are at a shop in Tucsun possibly with Bill Muszala but not sure.

The Corsair at Aero Trader is the Lori Crown bird (F4U-4, BuNo.96885), currently on loan to the USS Midway Museum in San Diego and being restored to static display condition by Carl Scholl & company. Glad to see that they hired a pro to take on the job. Should be an attractive display!

Carl was down at Midland a few weeks ago and said it was a limited, static display only effort, but that the work he was doing would be done to airworthy standards. Good news versus the previous situation with the "no experience necessary" restoration that the museum was advertising IMO. At least the basic airframe work will be sound. Still hope to see it fly in the decades to come (fingers crossed).

Is that the one that went down in a field in Texas? I can remember when I worked at the airport in Carlsbad I would get look at all of cool stuff all the time. You know he has real nice two seat F-5!
