Does anyone remember that cool show? I wish they would put it out on DVD. Each hour long episode took on a different aircraft. I had the Discovery Wings Channel as well, but now that is gone too.

They had their own channel for a while, called Discovery Wings Channel, now it has just changed over to the Military Channel

They still have some of the wings shows on once in a blue moon, but yea, your right, I used to live to watch those on Discovery Channel!

I have a few Wings on VHS. Look on Ebay. They always have auctions up for the old Wings episodes.

My favorite was the story on the XB-35/YB-49.

Here's a good question: Who was the narrator? He had a deep voice. Unmistakable.

I also loved the theme song.

I think it was a guy named Will Lyman.

I know he did Wings Over The Gulf one.

The best narrator was the English guy that did it when the show first started many, many moons ago.

I taped many of those Wings shows onto VHS many years ago and I still watch them every once in awhile. I really enjoyed Wings of the Luftwaffe and Red Wings narriated by actor Peter Ustinoff (sp?). Loved the episode that featured the Ilyushin IL-2 Shturmovik better known as the "Black Death." In this episode it mentions about Stallin writting a letter to the Ilyushin Design Bureau threatening them about how slow they were at producing the Il-2's and I quote: "We need more Shturmoviks like every Russian needs bread and air. This is your last warning. Stallin!"
