Visited the Museum in NE in late August; the SR-71 is now in what is the main lobby, while the others are on the exhibition floors below.
I was especially thrilled to see a Tornado, "live" for the first time in my life.

Tulio

The SR-71 is a great display. The best one I've seen. I'll post a few pictures tonight. I hope to make it back to the museum sometime soon. What they have restored after the move looks great. And most of the other a/c are in process of restotation.
Does anyone know how the restoration of the B-36 and B-52? I hope they keep the Older SAC colors and don't paint it Camo like ever B-52D is.

Sorry for the delay, but I dial in, Yes you all can pity me. Or some of you can. Here are my pictures I took in 2000 of the museum, sorry that they are on low quality and fuzzy but I was learning to use a digital camera.

New Musuem 15 miles away from Offutt AFB to Ashand. All of the Musuem aircraft, missles and displays. Time period was 1998.
Cheers RER
I may be wrong, but wasn't this move in 1997?? I was at the new SAC museum in July 1998 and all of the aircraft were inside and all construction was done including the landscaping.

Neat pictures, some day I will get off my lazy @ss and do more than just posting silly replies to Robert's war stories and maybe go along for a recovery of something other than an old VW.
As for the person who caused a change in the system,
Another convenience was removed from the message boards because
you took advantage of it. I hope it made you feel as important as we feel that a guest login was unnecessary to hide behind anyway!
OOPS! I just personally attacked a personal attacker while attacking myself and the person who was originally being attacked (WTF?)
8:30 in front of the Terminal Building, C'MON Rohr lets take this one outside!

Oh, BTW!
Theres an SR-71 in the Kansas Cosmosphere that is also quite a sight as you walk in the front door

Sorry about missing the attack in this thread, it has now been cauterized. I deleted responses to the attack as well, even though they were in defense of Rob. I did this to remove the attack entirely. I just wanted people to know why some responses were deleted and some edited. This way the attacker ceases to be and with the new rules cannot happen again.
As for the pictures, thanks Rob, these are the types of things that makes WIX the great community it is.
And thanks to all for you continued support in running OUR community.

don't know about thye rest of you but I am still very curious about the vulcan and how it was moved. I saw on another forum that some-one there doesn't think that a vulcan had ever been truly disassembled for moving even by the UK ministry of defence.
