C-123 Provider and a 69 Cutlass ...not good

Mon May 28, 2007 8:23 pm

My wife is watching the Ex-Wives club (reality show with real pissed-off Ex's) on ABC right now and in the previews they show one of wives to get back at her husband .....pushes his "restored" 69 Cutlass out of a C-123 Provider...at altitude

tune in

well they just did it. Well the husband had it coming but what a shame. Actually it turned out to be a 69 Cutlass S "Black and white" oddly enough I owned one just like it. Wierd huh

The C-123 was white on the top half and blueish gray on the bottom half and they dropped the car out at Kingman, Arizona. Anyone know the bird?

So can the Guy take "fluffly" the Rat Dog and ring it's neck?

or maybe try to make a 50 yard field goal with it  8)

What on earth has happened to TV. I think it was good at one point, but I could be wrong.

What happened to good quality shows like The Dukes of Hazzard?

Yeah like Airwolf, and the A Team. I pity the fools who don't like those shows!

I waited 6 years to get to Fort Bragg to learn that I didn't have to know how to weld. And that we didn't have to jump off cliffs grabbing pine trees on the way down. Amazing what ideas TV and movies can implant in your head.

How come they don't show 12 O'Clock High on TV any more? Now THAT was quality entertainment! Good thing I own all 78 eposides on DVD... 8)

Just you wait...they're gonna remake Black Sheep. Except at the end of every episode they'll have to vote someone off the island

I guess they created these so called "reality shows" just to give everyone an excuse to pop in their Dukes of Hazzard or other classic TV shows into their DVD players and watch them instead.

I watched the Cutlass fall to its death...the things that struck me about the show.

#1 I'd guess the producers had to buy the car from the ex husband. So he probably got himself a decent chunk of change for the car...enough to convince him to sell it anyway...

#2 It looked like the drivetrain was pulled from the car, and braces welded across the bottom of the car. I guess this was all to make it fly better though.

Ah...TV what will they think of next (I dont want to know...)

If my wife did that to my car, she would be in the trunk.

My favorite line was. "He would take the car to car shows and introduce the car to people before he introduced me"

It was a CARshow not a WIFEshow

To give a female point of view...sorta

The top picture in my BF/SO's (whatever you call those boys we date) wallet is my plane, the next two are his antique tractors with which he has won trophies in car and tractor shows, next one is a friend's T-Bucket that he sometimes takes to the car shows, the next is a L-4 he used to own and finally one of me  Think I need to rethink this relationship :?:  :?: No I will not get rid of him, he is the best crew chief I've ever had :P

At least it wasn't an F7U.

Sure hope we never see one of these shows with a mad wife bulldozing a warbird.

I'm going to bet that the producers dragged a Cutlass body out of a salvage yard, did a "quickie" on it to make it look like the ex's car, and pushed that out of the airplane (filled with explosives, apparently). Even idiotic TV producers know the real value of a restored classic car and won't usually destroy one. Besides, patching up a junkyard relic is much cheaper than buying a good one, and the fact that the "drop car" had no motor and tranny just adds more credence to my suggestion.

Cheers!
