It's a shame that this venue has to be used/misused to further politcal gains.
I will be 75 come my next birthday and well remember much about WWII. I could spend hours here talking of neighbors and relatives who served so gallantly and some who lost their lives.
As Rob so elequently pointed out, our problem begins in Washington. I say it's a Congress who has one main agenda, their own re-election and keeping a full barrel of pork.
As I walk the Modern Flight Gallery at the Air Force Museum as a volunteer, I do so with pride and honor as I represent all the generations of our military. Along side of me on many occasions is a gentleman who was a nose gunner on a B-24 flying with the 14th Af out of China. What a lesson in history.
Unfortunately, the profiles on this site gives little information. In reading the various posts, both ways, I can't help but wonder ...
how many have worn the uniform of our country in a foreign land .... In looking back, I wonder what might have happened had General MacArthur not be held back for what I consider political reasons.
I spent 23 years working in New York Cilty at 120 Broadway and from my window I watched them build the World Trade Center. In addtion, I arrived by Path below the Trade Center and left the same way come evening. It wasn't pleasant watching it come down on TV.
