This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Dear Forum users,
I have in the past posted a thread on the availibity of a WW2 US Navy K-ship airship gondoal.
I am trying to help a friend find a new home for this unique structure.
It was part of a larger museum collection, but the Gondola was not taken over when the rest of the collection moved on.
Although it needs a total restoration, it is largely complete.
We have contacted all the main museums in the UK and abroad, so far no luck.
It would be available free of charge, but stransport costs have to be paid by the new owners.
The gondola is located in the United Kingdon, roughly an hour from London.
Time is running out fast for this piece of avation history, if a serious new owner can be found, it can be stored for a little while longer.
Several people reacted last time I mentioned this on the forum. Could those that are still interested please reply to me.
Any ideas, any help or any contacts would be appreciated.
Feel free to forward this information to any museum!
Thank you,
Chris

Chris,
Last time out, I responded about this gondola. I sent to you a short description of who I represented, what my intentions were, and requested contact information of the owner. I received a note from you telling me that you would be in touch. Since that note, I have received nothing until the email from you this AM describing that the gondola was in desperate straits and needed saving. I think it is probable, and members of this forum with more experience in this are than me would likely tell you, that no saving will be taking place without contact information of present owner and a note of present conditions to include any legal problems of the gondola. Due to the size of the item, the logistics of transporting it are immense and none of us can begin to make progress in that direction without the basic information of who, what, when (as in how much time we have remaining to remove it), where, why, and how. I would appreciate another email with these details, or a posting of them here for myself and the others who responded to you with offers of help.
Thanks for taking the time once again to warn us of this impending loss of a valuable piece of aviation history, but let's actually get it done and saved.

Thank you for your reply.
I have just sent you an e-mail and forwarded your address to the person responsible.
I did remember your previous note and had previously passed on your information.
I hope you will be contacted shortly.
As you will understand I am the 'in-between' person.
Thank you,
Chris
