Gaithering of B-17's

Fri Jun 01, 2007 11:48 pm

Greetings
Was wondering if their was any plans in the future for a gaithering of B-17 like the Mustang Roundup ?

If my math is correct their will be a total of 19 or 20 Flyable Birds counting all restoration to fly, that are going on .

I belive that last time that any type of reunion was in the late eightys .

I am not trying to hijack the thread, but I have a question that goes along with the DVD that is available of Thunder 2005. I went to the website where it is available and watched the intro clip that plays when you open the website.
Now here is my complaint...it seems a lot of videos of warbirds, not just this one, have some kind of music dubbed over the images/movie. I am sorry, but I don't want to hear any music other than that made by Merlins, Allisons, Wrights and P&W engines. My question is, if I buy this DVD, will I be able to hear the planes or will I see some fantastic footage, but have to listen to some gawdawful music? This also applies to some air show announcers who feel that they have to keep talking non-stop through out a show....many times not even knowing what they are talking about.
Sorry if you feel I hijacked this thread, but I had to get it off my chest.
So endeth my rant for the day!

Yes you will be able to hear the planes. That clip that is on the website is the introduction into the movie it self. I have it and it is fantastic.

We definately need to see these guys get together more often, they need to get more of these guys doing formation work.

When Fuddy arrived Saturday morning,...It reminded me of after a mission waiting ofr the last straggler to come in. Soon as she roared over the tree tops for landing EVERYONE WAS CHEERING!
