There was a FG stationed in Sweden with the lightening stripe?? I thought that was from the Pacific Theater?

No. Those were just the colors it came with from the last owner. According to the crew they don't intend to paint it in Swedish AF colors as the airframe doesn't have any historic ties to their Air Force. So most likely the USAAF scheme will stay.

Or any other Air Force outside the FAS, for that matter!

Wonderful photo Daniel... welcome to the WIX. I checked out some of you other work, and you have a number of exceptional images. I especially loved the shot of the Hkp-4 (Swedish CH-46 Sea Knight) helicopter. I don't think I have seen its equal in any helicopter shot I've ever seen.

Here's the link if anyone else is interested... it's stunning!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Hopefully I will get airshots of Biltema's new Spit too, eventually...

Glad you like my work RMAllnutt. The heli pic is actually shot from a control tower - those guys were flying close.

My friend had a Cavalier Mustang, and every time he talked about changing the vertical fin, I reminded him it was "the mark of distinction". Heber (and Dianna too!) was an awesome guy. I got to fly in the same gaggle with him at Oshkosk '99 and 2000, and we became fast friends. I'm amazed wherever you see a post regarding this plane or Heber, how many people have such nice things to say about him, usually regarding the generosity of his time. What a charismatic champion for the Warbird movement he was.
