Cleaning house and various changes

Sat Nov 06, 2004 3:42 pm

I am in the midst of cleaning house on the forum and I've decided to seriously edit the posts and will be doing so over the course of the weekend. I've also decided to make it so that only registered users will be able to post. Certain people have taken advantage of my general good nature and run rampant on the forum. Well enough is enough. I will be going through the posts and editing or deleting them. I will ban those that repeatedly abuse the members of the forum and in general piss me off.

I am sorry to have to take such draconian measures but it has become apparent that this is necessary.

If you wish to voice your opinion on the matter feel free to e-mail me.

Sad that this has had to happen Scott, but I thoroughly concur with your decision.

It is the right thing to do. Perhaps at some point in the future you can try lifting the restriction of having to log on, but it is certainly a good thing now.

Well done Scott

It is sad to have to make these changes but thepersonal attackes were getting out of hand. I fully support your decision.

Rob Rohr, per his request has been banned from the forum. I hope those responsible for prompting this are happy with themselves and we will all regret his absence.

:(

I hope Rob will still hang at Geneseo and other locations in the Northeast with the WIX.

I hope so too, but he's apparently disallusioned with the warbird movement at the moment. It seems an unknown WIXer decided to make personal attacks against Rob offline. If I find out the id of this individual I will ban him as well and remove all evidence he was ever here. I'm rather peeved about this.

I don't suppose there is any way we can persuade Rob to come back? I know he occassionally got carried away, but he was active and passionate, and his heart is in the right place. (btw - spelling ability has *never* been considered any indication of intelligence) If we all just sit back and 'chat' on the boards, without ever 'doing' anything, we will lose the right to recover/restore/own/fly these aircraft. Just my two cents worth

Colonel, as I know you are listening, EXECUTE PLAN Z! :butthead:

Homer has been banned for general abuse, and personal attacks onboard .

Glad to see it gone. Good work Scott.

Scott, personally I feel sorry for the extra grief you face on this board whenever the trolls decide to "rear their ugly heads".

Please remember that they are in the minority, the majority of posts are constructive to the cause, and I, for one, support your efforts here 100%.

Thank you for making this board available. Logging on remains something to which I look forward daily.
