I was actually hesitant to use a photo like that in an airplane magazine, but we had a very positive response to it. In fact, we had women subscribing to the magazine for their husbands because of that back cover.

Looking forward to it!

Well, you are going Dutch as well now as I have just filled out the subscription form. With so many positive reviews how can I stay behind.
Can't wait.

Tim--
Can't wait..."Daddy's Girl" was one of the Great Unused Paintjobs, I well remember being thrilled to bits when Jim Church leaked me that bit of news on the QT before the project was completed. Keenly awaiting James' Stringbag review too...must have been a daunting unscrambling job...
And re the pic on the back of WD#1, really, you couldn't have chosen better: after all the whole project is a Grand Beginning...and we all can remember when the bug first bit. (Truth told...you could do something similarly "wonderment-oriented" on every back cover. For example, a friend of mine once chanced to get a magnificent photo of a small boy running along directly behind CWH's Lancaster, arms flung out like wings, out beyond the crowdline. Sadly the neg has been lost but I still have an 8x10 of this fabulous "grab shot" in a frame on my desk. It'd be terrific on a WD back cover. Actually, now that pix can just be scanned to CD, I suppose it matters not that the neg's gone).
BTW I ran across a 1984 photo of what I think is your SNJ with its blue and yellow trim, in an airshow piece in the long-defunct AeroNews Photo mag. (Was looking for a particular Harvard--found that and this too).
Cheers

Big 'Thumbs Up' for the US Postral Service
I received my copy here in the UK yesterday...
Looks great, especially the Havoc and Zero article.
PS. Tim.. I see your son gets another appearance on the back cover. He will be wanting image fees next! (my wife liked that bit of the magazine!)

My wife really liked the back cover photo on #1 as well! And she seldom says anything about my warbird mags.

Well, what can I say. I signed up last thursday and today issue nr 1 and 2 arrived!!!! That's what I call a very good service.
What an excellent start for a new magazine, it reminded me of WWW (not bad to be compared with that I think). I am stunned to say the least having just taken a quick look. Later this evening I will sit back and relax and immerse myself in warbirds. I have warned Brenda already that I don't want to be disturbed unless the house falls apart.
Cheers

Way to go Ohio,

Don't despair guys. We mailed the Canadian and overseas customers three days before the US magazines. We assumed (incorrectly) as it now seems, that the 'foreign' mailings would take longer. We also use a mail service for the US subscriptions because there are so many of them...and they may have delayed it a bit also.
Hopefully you will get them before the end of the week.
