Anybody around Loveland, Thur afternoon or eve, I may be washing the Spitfire down at the Eagle hangar at the south end. I resisted the urge to headline this post, Free Warbird Time. Also around or after July 4? the Collings bomber may be coming there. They call the airport Ft. Collins, but it is near Loveland and is FNL.

Bill, I'd love to come over and take a look at your Spit. Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow and wouldn't be able to get out there until around 6pm. Any chance you're gonna be there that late?

Thanks, Doug

Doug, the plane is at the south end, outside Eagle Air so look anytime. It is really dirty with bugs and dust. If it is not there check at the FBO more northj as I might try to get a hangar. If I promise to be there at a certain time it is almost sure somethig will interfere. I don't plan to wash it in the heat of the day, so likely Thur eve or Fri early am. The oil change and service checks have been done, CAMS LOOK GOOD!!!, oil filters ok, etc. We are waiting on an air filter which shop normally has in stock, but got overlooked to reorder last time. We use the Brackett wet foam air filter, cheap, good, and fits right in the air box. I can't believe there are a lot of Mustang guys flying an engine that cost $80 k or more to overhaul and they don't have any air filters. My engine OH guy, Jack Hovey sure had filters on his 51 the lasst time I saw it.

Bill I hope to be at the Ft. Collins show on July 2-July 5. Will you be flying at that event?
Best Regards,

Bluedharma

Thanks Bill. I can't wait to see your bird in person. Hopefully I'll catch you there.

Bill....both Denise and I will be out there to see the bombers while they're there, probably see you too.....might try to do a photo shott with an irish band called 'The Elders' in front of '909' for an irish theme, will have to see if they want to do it....you should roll the Spit over by the bombers when they get there.....

Hope to see you!

Mark

Blue and Mark, I don't have any plans to be at LOVELAND the 2-5. Nobody there has mentioned it to me; I think they are more jet oriented than the vintage stuff, or could be Collins group wants to do it alone. It has been so hot over on the front range and this is a very nice time to be in Aspen. With Gen and Osh, I will be gone 2 weeks at least, probably leaving around the 11?. I got a call last night that they are planning a fly in open house type day at Boulder Sat Aug 18 so try to come.
