Scott, please convey my regards to Rob; as ugly as he is, I hold him in very high esteem. : ) If you can, would you please PM me with his telephone number, so I can call him?

Thanks.

well, there are only two things I regret from all this.

1. less access for people who might have something useful to say and more work for you Scott.

2. Rob is gone. I certainly hope given time he returns.

not often I can say I am ashamed of another aussie but yeah, that was one.

Well it's all too bad; we had a pretty good string which had to be locked and removed, because of all this. So I was actually offended, because "the trolls" messed it up. Glad the trolls are gone, and we've got the good 'ol boys for now.

Scott,

Thks for everything, I was a reluctant poster mainly because other boards did not police the idiots, I am pleased you have the strength to ban this type of fool.

As for Rob, yes he can be a pedantic pain in the **** when he is passionate about a subject, but in the whole his information was enlightening and entertaining most times. I for one hope he comes back soon, I have to put up with Chinglish on a daily basis and found Rob's spelling less of a problem than most.

Please come back Rob, and also all those others who were intimidated by the fools who tried to take over.

Stuart

I heard from Rob in an email. All is well. He is just taking a break and expects to be back after the holidays.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

There is more to it than just the trolls that like to caused problems on WIX. Rob has promised he will be back. Lets just leave it at that and move forward.

In the spirit of Rob's enthusiasm I suggest that everyone post the latest news regarding what ever aviation projects (restorations, etc) that you may be involved with. Also go out on the web find something interesting that is Warbird related and come back here an let us all know about it. If everyone can do that on a regular basis, even if not frequent, then you won't notice the void left by Rob's absence.

Thank-you mrhenniger for your thoughtful suggestion...but nothing
can REPLACE the void of Col. Rohr...we can only hope to "muffle
the sucking sound" of his absence!!! I hope all is well with He and His.

Scott, I want to compliment you on the very professional way you have handled the recent problems on the board. As you know, your 'predecessor' encountered similar issues, and shut down that board. While I cannot in any way fault his decision as it is a very personal matter, what I can say is that the user community was the poorer for its demise. You filled a very important niche with this site, and I would hate to see anything happen to it. My heartfelt thanks to you for finding a way to keep it going.

As for Rohr, although I have never met the man (and looking forward to it, some day), if my read of him is right, he has way too much PASSION for this game to stay away for too long.

Thanks Scott good job....just getting around to reading this thread , well the first five posts in it. Never have understood why Rob was such a big deal as I always enjoyed his posts, but I guess that's just my normal mode on the internet, I just read and don't make a fuss about most things or get caught up in controversies. It's a shame he's gone.

I've been talking wit Rob and informed him that he would be welcome back. He said he is dealing with some personal, professional and medical issues at the moment but currently is lurking. He will probably be back around the first of the year.
