P-40F-15-CU 41-19830 Top Scoring Warhawk

I'm seeking any info on this historic P-40F Warhawk s/n 41-19830 that was supposedly scrapped in the early 1960s. This particular Warhawk served with the 44th Fighter Squadron has #111 "Reckless Prostitute"/"Destitute Prostitute" in the Solomans Campaign from Guadalcanal in Feb. 1943 to New Georgia Island in Nov. 1943 where it was retired from combat and returned to the states and used in War Board drives till the end of the war. It flew over 150 combat missions and downed at least 14 confirmed Japanese planes while being flown by at least 4 aces. After the war it was given to Grant Union High School in CA and used has an instructional airframe until its disposal in the early 60s. It's a shame that some farsighted individual didn't see fit to preserve such a historic airframe. I'm sending a couple of scans to Scott to post for all to see. PS: I was told that the old biddie teachers at the school had a cow upon seeing the names on it and had them painted out. Check the pictures.

Which city was Grant Union High School in? I spent much time with a man who says he looked over a derelict stored P-40F with about 14 kills around 1992 in California. I never made the match at all, and doubted that the P-40 he and others had inspected could have authentic markings. I sure never knew this particular airplane had survived into the 60s. It's all making some sense now...

Grant Union High School is a 2 campus vocational high school in Sacremento, CA. I've contacted their alumni assoc. and their seeking out former students who have knowledge of and/or photos of the airplane.

Did you or any friends ever pursue the info I gave you in an E-mail at the time of your original post? You and Rob Mears I believe are the only ones on the Internet that I have ever told the details to.

I 99.9% believe this airplane still existed in northern California in 1993.

No, just don't have the time or resources. The thing was disposed of over 40 years ago I'm sure it's a new honda by now
