I tried out some indoor shots with my 10D last Friday at the RAF Museum. The lighting is pretty challenging, ranging from reasonable to "where's my torch?". Here are the results, see what you think.

I've completely roasted the bandwidth limit on my ISP account by hosting these images. I'll paste up a link in the next few days that'll take you to a webpage with the photos on.

Sorry, Rob

Excellent photos! Unfortunate codes on the Lancaster, though :)

Jeff, the first seaplane is a Supermarine Stranraer (The silver one) and the second is the Seagull.

Cheers, Rob

Scott, please feel free to use these in the Registry.

Thank-you very much for sharing! Very nice shots.

BTW... You might want to considering picking up Microsoft's "Picture It". For those shots where you were you were workings with very poor lighting, out of balnace light (very green), Picture It has a very nice feature. You can click on a part of the picture that you know should be white and it will adjust the whole picture based on that sample. It works extremely well and makes a perfect colour balance every time with just a click of the mouse. I.e. no more green pictures. I wouldn't be surprised if other photo editors have this feature, but Picture It is likely much cheaper with a price of about $80 CDN.

Regards,

Mike

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Mike, I'm afraid that I don't tend to pick up on green casts as much as other people and I'm not very good at correcting them because I'm colour-blind.

Once I start mucking about with colour balances things may look OK to me but awful to everyone else.

Well, that does make it challenging doesn't it? Still with Picture It all you would need to do is click on a white part, which isn't too hard with warbirds as there are many markings that include white.

Anyway it isn't like I am offended by the colour balance of some of your pictures. I appreciate it more that you posted them for us.

Thanks again.

Mike

Took a long time to download all of those on a dial-up connection but it was worth the wait. Bet this used up some major bandwidth! I visited the USAF Museum in the early 90's and part of the museum was so dark it was hard getting decent exposures even using a tripod.
