It just isn't fair at all. I've only seen the man's work but this isn't easy for me to hear. Gerry will be joining some great ones that all went before they should've. This might be one of the saddest days of the warbird industry.

Thank you Gerry for all you did for us. The void you are leaving will never be filled.

Wow, I am totally speechless over this one. The photo from the CNN website made my heart jump then fall. Frightening and tragic.

Godspeed, Gerry. Tailwinds and blue skies.

Well now that I think of it I didn't meet him but I surely got pics of him and remember him standing in front of the Zero at Reno in 2005 or 6.

I never met the man but I've seen his work. A real, REAL artist. My condolences to his family and friends.

We had to head for home Thursday evening and this the first I've heard about it. What a horrible thing to read when finally getting back on line. My prayers go out to those involved in this tragedy.

I am absolutely gutted..... Gerry was one of the finest individuals you could ever hope to meet. I don't know him well, but had so much pleasure flying with him in Connecticut, and in our conversations since. He will be missed by so many.

Godspeed Gerry.

Rob;
Thanks for posting that photo of Gerry. It was taken by Peter Guyton, Boone's son, and I've always thought it captured the man and his plane very nicely.
I can't begin to express how upset I am over this tragedy. My prayers go out to Gerry and his family.
Jerry

I'm still shocked. I never met him personally but exchanged a few emails. I was doing some research and he was very helpful. A great loss for our community.

I'm in england and just got the news.... I'm sick over it... I have heard so much about this man and my thoughts go out to all who knew him... It looks as if he was trying to avoid running over the lead '51... If thats the case, could his actions have saved the life of the lead pilot? He's in my prayers..

I don't even want to turn on my T.V. anymore. Everytime I do there is something sad to report.

God Speed to those we have lost and thoughts and prayers to their family and friends.

You all take care and God Bless you all.

From everything I've ever read or heard about him, he was just a wonderful man. This is terribly sad. The Beck family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Gerry. I didn;t know him, but knew of his work in this tiny warbird community.
