My 2004 grand tour of UK museums has just closed and for those interested, the photographs from Cosford (19/11/04)...

Image

...and Duxford (20/11/04)...

Image

...have just been uploaded to my Webshots account.

As can be seen from the photos' of the Bolingbroke, the Mk.IV cockpit has been removed and the Mk.I cockpit placed next to the airframe.

Image

Does anybody know if the plans ARE to swap the two and if so, what will happen to the Mk.IV cockpit?

It would be great to see it on display!

I have also updated the Memorial Album with a few shots from the American War Cemetery at Madingley, Cambridgeshre.

Thanks for looking and roll on the 2005 tour season :)

Nice Pix... thanks for sharing. It sure would be great if they put the Mk.1 nose on the Blenheim/Boli. I was curious to see that the Victor has been re-painted in a Hemp color scheme... when did this happen? I'm glad to see that she's had a little attention... hope they can do the same for the Shackleton sometime soon.

Cheers,
Richard

Wrong Victor, this one's a K2 at Cosford and was delivered to the museum in the Hemp scheme.

The Duxford one is still outside, in the same camouflage scheme that it has worn for the past 20 or so years.

(Bugger, beaten to it :)....thanks Mike)

Hi Richard,
To the best of my knowledge, she (XH672) has always had the Hemp scheme, (perhaps) your thinking of Victor XH648 at Duxford, which is in a Grey/Green/Grey scheme?

Hi--

Is that Boly G-BPIV/10001, and if it is, did the belly landing end her flying career? That would be a pity, but if that is the case, the notion of grafting on the Mk.I nose for static display is an interesting one. If the Mk.IV nose becomes available, I'm sure Cees would willingly give it a good home...

Yes, it is

Absolutely not! It will be back in the air in 2 or 3 years, and much hard work is being expended to ensure this.
