Lets scramble the QF-4's and dust off the Tomcats...

Anyone know what type intercepted the Bear? I'd guess a Hornet.

That was a stock photo taken in '99 (according to the caption . . .)

How much does a Kuznetzov NK12-MV turboprop weigh? One of those would make a heck of a museum engine display.

But will it be at legends.......er nevermind. In all seriousness though, it would be very cool if we could somehow get one to come over here for an airshow. Sans ordinance of course.

I have a video from an airshow in the UK (Fairford, Mildenhall, Lakenheath, or something) from the 90s. They had a Bear flying together with an IL-76 tanker if memory serves me right.

A couple of Bears were in the US back in the late 80s/early 90s on a visit to Barksdale AFB. Don't know though if they travelled elsewhere.

I've always thought that the SAC Museum should have a Soviet section with their Cold War relics on display. Let's see, Bear, Bison, Backfire, Flagon, Fiddler, and on and on....

Enjoy the Day! Mark

There is talk of the NMUSAF getting a Russian bomber. I think it was a Bear.
