P-61 update?

Wed Nov 24, 2004 2:16 pm

I was wondering if anyone had an update on the 2 P-61s that were recently shipped from Asia?

Also, is it confirmed that FHC bought the China example?

Hi John

I posted on this the other day on one of the forums . No news yet. The aircraft are apparently sitting in the UK near Birmingham with a company called "Gilberts" in storage and efforts are being made to try to find out more. I think it is interesting that the Chinese one and these moved at roughly the same time although I can't pin down a connection. I am sure that all will come out sooner or later but given the rather childish legal letter I recieved after my first post I think the owners are a little touchy.

People are appearently taking this a bit too seroiusly if they get lawyers involved!
But I guess if there is money to be made, I shouldn't be too surprised.

I guess 20 years in the Air Force have dulled whatever entrepreneural skills I may of had. :)

Thanks for the reply.

Setter... didn't you have some photos of the PNG P-61 parts? Have they been posted anywhere... or could they be PM'd to me, as I'd love to see them, however indistinct the image. Cheers. R.

Hmmnn.....getting perplexing this one.
According to a poster on the Flypast forum, the Beijing P-61 is still on display, he photographed it still in-situ there on Nov 20th 2004.
