I learned to drive in a 1952 GMC M135 2.5 ton cargo truck and a 1942 1/2 ton Dodge WC. My first car was a 1966 VW Beetle that I got for free from a friend of the family that had it sitting in his driveway with a blown engine. My father and I pulled the engine and rebuilt and I was was off and running.

Thanks for the kind words... he is a good kid and I THINK he will do well with his tank/boat.

My first drive was a Propane John Deer tractor kinda like this one
Image

My first car was a 1977 Olds Cutlass sedan...:(
The Red Sled...red inside and out with a wimpy V-6.

The boy has it good...but then again it was cheap and there is lots of iron around him...as long his girlfriends stay out of the back seat I'm ok with it...

Wish us luck.

I also spent time in tractors... Minneapolis Molines... R, Z, ZA, ZB, UB, etc. The newest was a '52 and we used them everyday on Grandma's farm up until '83.

This wasn't my first car, but it was the first one that I got to drive legally.
