Greetings,

I have been wondering, in the movie Apocalpyse Now where the PT boat cruises slowly under the B52 tail, was that a real tail section?
It sure looks very convincing if not.

Cheers

I read an article a long time ago on the making of the movie that stated that the tail was an aluminum mockup, and they scaled it up from the Monogram B-52 kit!

It certainly looks eerie in the movie, which is already spooky enough !!

Thanks for the info.

Wondered the same thing about the B-29 tail section from Empire of the Sun. Anyone know anything about that?

Just saw last night at the local Wal-Mart, a video titled "The Last Flight of Noah's Ark"

I vaguely recall seeing the move, eons ago. It has a B-29 involved, used as a floating transport for animals, hence the title.

Was it a real B-29?

Also, just saw an old photo of a Corsair wreck in Efate, New Hebrides. Anyone know if this airplane was recovered? Is it still there?

Saludos,

Tulio

I don't want to seem totally anal here, but it's not a PT (Patrol, Torpedo) boat. It's a PBR (Patrol Boat, River).
