The problem with the FlyPast Forum is just a vain attempt to stop me reaching 2000 posts.

BTW there's some very good news re the Battle of Britain London Monument due to be released any day now.

Also the ten names I've sponsored have come through, including the one remaining airman who lost his life during the battle & who lived locally.

We must have a word about the FlyPast smilies, the WIX ones are loads better.

Hi Geoff,

I read something in the press the other day about some of the BoB vets having visited the memorial (or part of it) where ever it is presently. Unfortunately I have been very efficient today and taken a run down to the paper recycling bin with all the old newspapers so can't go and look for the article. Can you refresh my memory (tricky, I know!) as to what that was about?

BTW, were you at the BoB Historical Society thing re the Memorial at the House of Commons on 30th Sept?

You'll have to wait I'm afraid until the BoBHS go public on it, like me. All I know is that it's very good news.

Archie, I know that a few veterans visited the foundry (I think it was that) on the Monday after Remembrance Sunday, which might be what you're thinking of & no I wasn't at Westminster. A bit grand for me that.

Great to know that all is progressing well with the new memorial, I think it is going to be stunning. I think it must have been a visit to the foundry by some of the vets that I had read about Geoff, thanks for that.

The Westminster thing wasn't terribly grand at all, drinks, nibbles, speeches and chat. Very interesting and informative.

I agree about the smileys on this forum, they are grrrrrrrreaaaaaaaat
