Matt,

The look in your eyes while you're sitting behind that machinegun is priceless. I just hope you don't work for the postal service!!!

Here is a picture of me and the company plane. Not a warbird, but flown in the war against broken down tractors!

Hello everyone, I'm Armyjunk2, I inherited all these photographs when my friend Leo Polaski passed away last winter. I had no idea what to do with them but the guys at Bradford AFV site suggested posting them here. I'm retired and I am lucky to have the opportunely to travel and see lots of things. I have a lot of photographs around here and the Internet has made it possible to share with lots of people, doesn't seem to make any sense to just have photos in a box. I hope everyone enjoys the photos I'm posting..............

Doug, check this thread out on posting pics. You need a host for your pics like photobucket.com

I tried to do this. Photobucket wouldn't let me sign in. It kept repeating the "type this weird code" and never would accept it. I got pissed and signed out of it.
I still don't understand where or how you get the long winded code or link or whatever that tells where you want the photo to go.

Sorry I have an attitude but this stuff isn't obvious to some of us.

Any plain language help will be appreciated.

thanks,
Doug.

Find a teenager. Offer Pizza, and position (before Pizza consumption) at your computer. Tell the teen what you want. Be amazed by speed of action, do NOT try and follow or understand. Demand clear instructions how to 'log in' next time, etc.

Failing that.

The "type this weird code" bit is usually a number / letter question to check you are a real person who can read messed up letters and type it in - and not a computer doing it for dodgy reasons.

Having just checked how to register on photobucket, I'm asked to type in a number letter code. Once you've done that you have set up an account. You then need to 'upload' photos from your computer onto the Photobucket website. From there, you can easily copy the link to each photo into your post here, enabling us all to see your photos. It's very hard to explain how to do this over the internet; but if you've registered on WIX, you can do it on photobucket. It's essentially the same process.

Given there's a limited number of correct ways to get it right and an infinite number of ways to misunderstand and get it wrong, I'd advise you find someone with some web savvy and get them to help you. Here (Australia) and in the UK you can ask at your local library; dunno about where you are, but ask around.

PS: The 'plain language' plea come up all the time. Just like in aviation, there's a very precise and standardised vocabulary which you need to learn; 'explaining' those terms can be done, it's just easier in the long run to learn to talk the language. I'm reliably informed that pilots can use computers, but it's often an ego dent that computers aren't awed by the flightsuit. ;)

Getting ratty with a computer's not worth it; they'll tough you out every time. HTH.

Thanks, James. The teenager and pizza part sounded very clear. I'm a tactile learner-it works better if I have it in front of me instead of trying to hear about something that's not right here at the moment.
As for the 'weird code' part, I had to type it in a number of times and it kept repeating the same process over and over. I just don't deal well with frustration. I prefer something I can put a larger wrench on.
G'day,
Doug.

DaveyMac, roger the silly grin. That's probably what I looked like on my first flight at Lone Star. What brand are your goggles?

Bill Larkins, what is the twin engine flying boat in your avatar photo? Looks like it may be an early model Consolidated.
