Hey-hey! It's the 'ole Monogram kit! (Revell these days...) Looks groovy.
I guess I never thought of posting a model here... hmmmm...
Here's AK987. I've seen her four times now and will never tire of the 'ole gal...
USAF photo (NMUSAF)
I submitted the first of these next two to the NMUSAF website and, shock of shockers, they put it up.
These were taken in May of 2006.

One of my favourites from when I was a kid. It was just so different from everything else on the warbird scene.

That's one of my faves too... it was the first P-40 I ever saw.
Surprisingly, my Dad took few photos of this Hawk. This is my favorite of the few...

Here's a look at 44-7619, circa 1955 or so, when she was modified as a racer. I don't believe she was ever raced, though.

I'm glad the got the mouth and eye correct. shame though that no one except Bill Anderson and Jerry Yagen paid attention.

These are three 4x5 negatives in my collection.
Two show a P-40E-1 and the third shows a Hawk 81... not sure if it's a P-40, B, or C.
I have no means of scanning large format negatives at the moment, and haven't bothered to go looking for someone
who does. So until then, this is the auction image, which ain't all that awfully horrible...

That looks like four pennies to me...
Hey, I've never seen that second one before. Looks like a replica... where is it located?
Here's another 'marketing' Hawk... AK899 on the roof of a gas station in Everett, Washington.

This is a replica that is part of the sign for Harry's Cafe in Lakeville, MN, a warbird-themed restaurant right on Highway 35. It is probably my favorite restaurant, not only because it's warbird themed, but the food is AWESOME. I'm starting to drool just thinking about it. Link to the restaurant is:

sad thing about the k-zoo p-40 is that it is so well known, but hasn't flown in a dozen years, so there are very few pictures of it flying on the internet.

These were scanned from RPPCs (Real Photo Post Cards) that the NWM produced while they were still in Geneseo.

This Kittyhawk of 94 Squadron, RAF has seen better days. She was photographed by an unknown member of the Afrikakorps.
