As the grandson of a B-24 crewman, I love those pics. I love the B-24, while the B-17 might be more glamorous, the Lib is just as sexy in my humble opinion. I love seeing (and helping out a bit) the work that Gary did with Ol 927!!!

Everyone,

Is "Snow White" the airplane that was renamed "Hail Columbia" before the 1 August 1943 Ploesti mission?

Thanks in advance,
Scott

Great stuff, Jack! The ammo loading picture is interesting. Its hard to imagine that whole belt traveling through the bomb bay to the top turret without catching on something.

I think "Grumpy" was the plane that became Col. Kane's "Hail Columbia." Hey jack, got any pics of "The Witch" that show more than just the nose art?

Steve,

"Grumpy" sounds correct. Thanks--now I don't have to try to find where I read that in my disorganized library!
