Here are just some random selections, mainly from Oshkosh 2006 as it is the only CD I can find at the moment with any Mustang shots...

While we're on the topic, does anyone have any mostly straight on, large shots of a bare metal Mustang, like the DK or Jack Croul examples?

Not nearly... more please...

A couple more vintage shots...

A Fifth AF P-51 keeps company with a C-46 in the Philippines, 1945. I'm not sure which group this Mustang would
have been with, there are only a few possibilities; 3rd ACG, 35th FG, 348th FG and the 71st TRG.

If only there were some nose markings...

Anyhoo, this Mustang is interesting in that it has what at first glance might be mistaken for an Aeroproducts prop. But
in fact it's a later Hamilton Standard unit with non-cuffed blades.

This next one is 'MisAppropriated'. The info I have says that she was found by the 394th BG at Orleans-Bricy, France
in 1944, and that she was used by the 584th BS for a while before being turned over to the 370th FG.

There's a photo of this ship in John & Donna Campbell's 'P-51 Mustang Nose Art Gallery' (page 80) showing the
'K5' code of the 584th BS, so that much is certain. But the bit about going to the 370th FG... I've come across no
info other than the aforementioned book and what's written on the reverse of this photo to verify that the ship went
to that unit. So any corroboration or correction would be appreciated.

Also, I have no serial for this ship, and conflicting info as to whether it was a P-51B or C... Martin?

This is a poor job of trying to rescue a bad scan from a scrap print, but it's a super groovy shot, me thinks...
