On this image is Whilhem Hippert of Jasta 74 and in behind is well know Fokker D.VII in bkack and yellow checkers. This what he held is first high altitude respirator system ever but it is not much know about it's use.

I own the book from whcxih that image comes from.
Amazing book it is indeed covering hisotry of USAAF flightgear in WW2.
I myself own over 38 oxygen masks from WW2 to modern day in my collect.
Amazing to think how primitive some of the WW1 and early WW2 stuff is to modern days useage.
