I am not sure, but think there is a man who lives in Minneapolis area who owns and flys a Harpoon. He came to the Wings of the North show at Eden Prarie, Flying Cloud airport. Try the folks there or up at the museum at Anoka Co. just north of Flying Cloud.

Gary,

Tony Ritzman from Aero Trader would be a good person to contact. He and Bill Muszala ferried our Harpoon for us several years ago. Not sure what they would charge for something like that but there is no other outfit in the world with more heavy twin experience than Aero Trader and I know that Tony has flown PVs before. If Aero Trader is not interested get a hold of Bill Muszala, he is familiar with the type. I will give you a call with the details.

Might also shoot "coldaffyduck" on this forum a PM. The Old Dominion Squadron folks have a C-60. Not sure if that would work for you, but worth a post.

It might be putting the cart before the horse, but shouldn't you line up your pilot before you get the ferry permit ? Permits are good for 10days before you have to renew them. I prefer to deal with the FAA as little as possiable when it comes to Ferry permits, and I have gotten a few over the years.

They are good 10 days before they are signed. I think he has it completed and just needs to have it signed.

I have never had to sign a ferry permit. They are good for 10 days when they are issued by the FAA, and it is then signed by the FAA inspector approving the permit. The only sign off I have had to do is a logbook entry, and the application form for the permit. I have gotten permits for a DC-3, C-1A, C-119, A-26. I never got a permit until I had a flight crew lined up and knew if there was anything extra they wanted me to check.
I would contact the local FSDO a couple weeks in advance to find out what they wanted as far as paperwork, each FSDO is it's own little kingdom, with it's own rules, no matter what OK citys says.

Matt I am sure that you know better than I. I have never personally had to get a ferry permit just going from hearsay from an aircraft dealer friend of mine and the aircraft that my father has had ferried.

Thanks for the leads....Bill, I will try to contact the folks up in Minn...And Jase, will try your lead as well...Several people have contacted me about the group in Indiana...(Hot Stuff crew) , appreciate your effort, seems their personel are tied up at this time....Matt, I'm not sure about how the permits work, but I was told that the owner has them in hand, but have not been signed yet, and would be good for ten days after signed...I know, I was curious myself...I deal with D.O.T. everyday...and I can just imagine that the FAA is just as humble to help airmen as DOT is with drivers.......Hey Ryan!!! Shoot me an E-Mail!!!onetimehilton@aol.com.....Thanks again all....still looking....Gary

Gary, I am not sure that I helped in your search for Qwequeg. The pilot I had in mind flew his plane several years at that show, I just can't remebrer his name. It is possible it is a Lodestar or Ventura instead of a Harpoon. The other name that comes to mind is Randy Sohn, EAA check pilot in lots of big obsolexotic stuff. EAA would heave his phone, I am not at home to get it.
