B-29 (44-69729) Status? Photos?

I saw this aircraft back in Feb of 1992 in Denver,CO.
I heard that it was sent to Seattle at least by 1994, but I haven't seen any recent photos of it.
Does anyone know what the status is?
I was at the Seattle Museum Of Flight in 2006, but it wasn't outside at the time.
Warbirdregistry says "Under restoration".
Is it still being restored? Does anyone have any older photos of it (prior to 1992)?

The last time I was at the Museum of Flight restoration facility, in Everett, many parts were there. I don't remember seeing the fuselage though. So yes, it is still in restoration.

This B-29 is tucked away in one of Boeing's hangars with the museum's B-17 until such a time when the museum has the resources to place them on display in a new buildng.

When I was there last spring, someone from the museum said to me Boeing employees were still doing restauration work on her.

He did say also that they'll probably wait for the new building to bring them back for display...

Ahhhh....our old Lowry AFB B-29....when I shot pics of it back in the 90's before it moved, they had'nt restored the B-18 Bolo now on display and there was a cat living in it....ah memories...

Hi Mark,
Do you have any photos of the B-29 from back then? It was sitting outside collecting snow last time I saw it.
It was really beat up, and didn't look so hot. But I had high hopes for it when Lowry went inside the hanger.
By then, it was too late. It had already packed its bags for Seattle.(Seattle is a good home for it.)

Did you see the b-18 before the restoration?
I would be interested in any photos you have of that B-18 from back in the "cat condo" times.

Ohhhh....I'm sure I've got 'em buried away somewhere...think I took some of the Bolo too (don't know why I would'nt)....will see what I can find this weekend.

Actually, as nice as the B-29 in there would have been, I keep hoping they'll restore the Corsair!!

I've heard that the Museum of Flight was looking to restore the B-29 to flight worthy. But that they were only looking to be able to taxi it because the AF wouldn't allow it to be flown. Anyone know if this is the case or not about what they want to do with it?

The Museum of Flight actually FLY something?

They got the -17 all nicely restored; made the short hop from Renton to Boeing Field and promptly announced it would never fly again. While a few (very) of their a/c have flown in the past, it's just not in their "mission statement".

I've always wondered about the Museum of Flight's restoration/storage facility. How does someone from the general public get to access it? Or is that even possible?

I'd love to go check it out.

A coworker recently shared a couple of photos of a B-18 that landed wheels up on her family farm in Cason, Texas 1944/45. I'll have to pester her to bring them back in and get a scann...

Wish I knew about this when I went to Seattle a while back. Didn't think to check the website.
I saw the concord...air force 1... so forth, but I didn't know you could tour the resoration area.
