Ok Jack,
Here is attempt #2.

I did a search for "John Voss" and p-40.
I found a site that has many images by a guy named John Voss.
http://www.airfields-freeman.com/HI/Airfields_HI_Oahu_N.htm

I don't know if that is the same guy...but you could always contact the webmaster to see if it was.
Looks like the same guy posted these. "Submitted by John D. Voss, California USA"...
http://aeroweb.brooklyn.cuny.edu/database/aircraft/getimage.htm?id=10558

How many "John Voss" out there that like P-40s???
The power of the internet.

Anyway, If you can find John, perhaps you can get a story... or where this aircraft went.

Live the good life.

Capt John D. Voss was KIA Nov. 8, 1943 repulsing a Japanese Air Attack
at the Torokina beachhead on Bouganville. He was the last 13th AF P-40
pilot lost in action. :( :( :( :( :(
A+ for effort though :!:

Sorry,
I didn't think I did cross anyone. I was attempting to find an answer for Jack.

Jack has more than proven himself to me to be very knowledgeable.
As to question or object to Jack, I don't think I am qualified until I post maybe 5,000 more pictures and research a bit more.

But it was cool to do a little internet "stalking" and try to find out a bit more about this P-40. Amazing what stuff is out there.

By the way...
Jack have you seen this site?
In my search I found this. Very cool pictures here. http://hiavps.com/picture%20archives.htm

I got it and chuckled. But it could be easy to misread

OK, so I over reacted. Sorry. Jack is a resource that is legendary to many of us. So challenge his images when you must but be prepared to "stand up straight".
