Hi Peter

I had no idea a Vulcan was ever on the gate at Finingly.

Their was however one at Scampton, XH563 the nose section is now at Brunty.
It moved their last summer from Scotland, the rest of the airframe was scrapped at Scampton in the Mid 80s with the nose section going to Scotland at that time.

Talking of Vulcans I was at Waddo on Thursady and tried to photo XM607 but theirs a bloody fence in the way.

Yes apparently she flew in there during an open day and became a display aircraft at the base

Back at the Waddo airshow in June I had a good look at XM607 and it seemed in reasonable condition.

Not much point now, with the end of ACMI detachments and no more NOMAD exercises, WAVE will be rather quiet in the future. :(

Yes Waddo could get very quiet from now on, that said it will still be worth spending the odd hour their.

With the Awacks and Nimrods still their you might just get a good day :)
