Most Kills by a bomber crewmember

Mon Oct 15, 2007 5:14 pm

Greetings all, back home finally. Thought of a few questions while sitting on the plane home.

1. Does anyone know if there was a crewmember / gunner of a bomber crew that became an "ACE"?

2. Would they be called an "ACE"?

3. Any bomber that tallied up the most air to air kills by their crew?

????

Aerial Gunners: The Unknown Aces of World War II is a great book.

Thanks Tim, yes ... we are holding up well. Had a nice fly-by on Saturday of several of Dad's flying buddies. Very nice to see. Wish I had a camera, but under the curcumstances, taking pictures would probably been inappropriate. Need to sell Dad's Globe Swift now. He flew it until 84 years old ... not bad for an old Hellcat driver.

Anyway, very interesting about 14 kills as a B-24 turret gunner Jack, didn't know any of this history. Thanks Phil, Tim and Jack.

Any photos of SSgt Arthur Benko?
