From another posting by Ryan Keough:

Photo FTP account on the server, so your photos can be hosted native instead of through Photobucket or the like.

I believe that I have some idea as to the mechanics involved in directly hosting images on a web-site, since I actively participate in a Latin American Aviation History site, and a couple of other web-pages.

So, the question is . . . why not at WIX?

Why can't we directly upload photos from our computers? In our web-site we have a photo-size limit, so that all the photos posted will conform to the same dimensions, and we also have a "weight" limit in Kb per posting.

I have refrained from re-creating any photobucket account or similar, in order to avoid hacking; granted, my original photos still remain safe in my computer, and the hacking only eliminated photos that I had posted here, so they disappeared from all of the threads where I had uploaded them.

With direct FTP uploading, I would not have to worry about it, and we would not have the need to linking images to a photo host site.

If the issue is money, how much would it cost? I can contribute with an annual amount to help support Scott on this.

Any comments, please?

Tulio
