I got in last night from San Jose Ca. Nice place, big, real big, drove for a long time to my friends pad, and a deer hit the car on the way up, I haven't seen anything like that since I was a kid in east BF Oregon, and we were still in Austin. I guess this will only mean something if you're from the bay area. Nice city. My bud traded a 3 bedroom house in San Jose for a freakin mansion in Austin. Extremely nice pad, swimming pool and everything. I wanted to go to the Lone Star museum, I looked it up on yahoo, it looked like 150 miles away in Galveston Texas. Apparently it's a four hour drive one way. I guess I'll have my PPL next time I come back and I'll just fly there. Or better yet, I've heard Galveston is a spring break kinda place, maybe I'll just go there first, or go over for a couple of days with my bud and his family. I spent part of the afternoon sitting in this big bar/resturant on Lake Travis. Very cool! Very beautiful. Mannnn, I could just see having a pad on that lake, and flying some kind o lake bird outta there. Maybe I could link up with some Canada WIX bro's to teach me the finer points of water flying, a beaver or something, or maybe I could figure out a way to get floats on a T-6. Oh well, the beer and the food rocks, I'm having a good time. See ya'll later.

Update:

Went to Rudy's, great BBQ. Went to Salt Lick BBQ, way out in the countryside. Pretty cool place. You bring your beer in a cooler, sit down at a table, and they start bringing you big plates of meat. If I spend any more time down here I'm going to be a three hundred pounder. I go home today. Austin is a great place. I think I figured out where the warbird places are around here. Next time I come down I'm definately making the big tour.
