Love to see another DB powered 109 take to the air again. One of these days I will get to see one up close. I have really warmed up to the airplane. Its even put itself over the P-51 in my eyes but my still #1 fav is the FG-1/F4U-1. "I am not picky, chance vought or goodyear, there all good"

Looks like the project is coming along nicely!

Here are some pictures I took when I was there last year, and in 2005.

First engine runs after rebuild have been done at October 5th 2007. Some pics of that here:

Tests continue a few days later including first taxi tests. Here three videos of that:

See some Details and flight demonstration in the following video, done in 2005 some weeks before it crashed:

Wow, they sure rebuilt that very fast! Last I heard, I thought they were short of a lot of money needed to rebuild. I'm impressed!

Also, as an aside, what did the investigation conclude about why the accident occurred in the first place? Does anybody have any online links to the official accident report?

It will be nice to add another DB in the air........again!

Very very nice. I'm really impressed. The team and all those involved have a lot to be proud about.

What a beautiful machine.

Yup, I will never forget the first time I saw and heard a real Me109 when at Duxford for the debut public appearance of the restored Me109G 'Black 6'..... 8) 8)

Magnificent......
