Hey - anyone with old stock parts from AMARC should start saving it .. there a new market for REALLY REALLY old planes for Third world backwaters.

A-3 Skywarriors and A-4 Skyhawks are going to be sold to the middle east .. um yeah thats right MID EAST... and whats on top of list some vintage 1950s built USN ex retired aircraft.

What is the logic in sending these warbird to Mid East..?

the criminals that have taken over our country from "we the people" feel it would be safer to sell them to the enemy than to allow you or I to own one.

Maybe they should try to sell them a few TB-58s also. :shock:

While I can't see much sense in the act I do hope someone in the US might be able to buy them back. I'd love to see a A-3 fly again.

Apparently the TA-3s that were in the article should have been T-37Bs.

As for A-4s, they are still pretty viable when used in the right way. I understand that a knowledgeable pilot can beat an F-18 with an A-4 even today.

But I'm not biased or anything,.... :lol:

The way the article reads they would be sold to the official Govt of Lebanon,...whoever that is today.

To my way of thinking, the less potentialy unfriendly airpower over there, the better.

Raytheon owns six of them. They are based in California and used for airborne electronics testing. I believe either Air Classics or Warbirds International carried an article on them last year. I don't think they're all flyable at this point, but I believe some are still being operated. A Google search for "Raytheon Skywarrior" turned up plenty of hits, if you want to research it further.

It would be cool to see one fly!

loved that Bird, was the first AC i wrenched on when I first joined the NAVY, was attached to Fleet Air Reconaissance Squadron 1 (VQ-1) in Guam 72-75 this website has a lot of pics and info on the Whale.
