Paul, good for you to fly that Mentor around! How's the aircraft with the wee engine? With the 285HP it really hauls ass, but I heard it was a bit underpowered with the O-470. It might compare to the Pilatus P-3 with the 260HP.

Ours has the Parks conversion IO520BB with tip tanks and is in Marines colors, dark blue with marines on the side N563DP. It was the aircraft I got to learn and get my private ticket in.

She's got more than enough power for what we use her for. The best part of that "small" engine is that it's easy on the fuel burn.
Although, I would say if you're used to a 285HP T-34, and you jump in a 225HP T-34, you'd probably think it's underpowered.
