The Tampa / St. Petersburg area is nice. I guess I wouldn't mind living there. My whole family lives in Charlotte County, about 100 miles south of there. My company has two facilities in the area, but so far no jobs for me.

Unfortunate side effect if I moved there... no B-17 to play with... :(

Best of luck in the Sunshine State! 8)

Cheers!

Yeah, Rick, that's just what I was looking for!!!

Actually, I guess I should have been a bit more specific!!! Being much more familiar with the MCO/ISM area, I was just kind of wondering if anyone knew of any specific areas I should avoid while house hunting!!! That kind of stuff...............

Thanks! Check your PMs, sorry for the delay!

When I stopped to think about it, I realized that this is my 10th move in 20 years (I didn't count when I was a kid or when I went away to school)....The only thing that has remained constant in all these moves is the fact that I have WAY TOO MANY books! I've even parted with the majority of my shoes! I'm down to only about 40 pairs now! :D :D :D

I have never lived there, but years ago I went to a fly-in at St. Petersburgh Whitted Airport, the small one in the south part of Tampa. It has a long history, is a really nice looking place with a flight school and some vintage planes doing rides, and no control tower or TSA hassles. I came back by car a few years ago to look around, and it is pretty much the same. It wasn't really friendly, nobody bothered to say hello, sort of had a big city feel to it. There's a seafood resturant on the end of the pier just north of Whitted, adn a cruise ship dock just south. Looks like there is quite a bit of crime in the area.
